Chromium is an open source web browser with aim to . we know that what is a browser, right? a browser is a software, with the help of browser we can do anything on the internet like watching videos, listening to songs, reading books and emails etc...
The second thing is open source so the question is what is open source? open source software is a type of software in which we can modify its code or source code. in another word we can modify according to our requirement but in some limits whatever is set by its owner.

You might have heard from somewhere that chromium is a virus or malware. But the truth is chromium is not any type of virus.

Because chromium is an open source web browser, Anybody can modify its code that's why some people are using redirect or pop-up program on their website. And when you land up in that type of website by mistake you click on some unnecessary stuff and Chromium or other software is automatically downloaded to your system which you don't need. So sometimes by mistake chromium is installed in your system, and everyone thinks it is a virus. But the truth is we can not call it a virus.
Another reason to believe take chromium as a virus is because you can not uninstall it easily.

The owner of chromium is a Google, yes it was made by google before google chrome. in another word, chromium is a alfa version of google Chrom. It was made in 2008.
#2 The difference between Chromium amd Chrome
As we know Chromium is a open source software but google chrome is not open source web browser that is why you can't do anything with it that means you can't modify chrome. but as we discussed before moment Chromium is a open source web browser and you can modify it.
Chromium is in only one version. where Google chrome has variant versions as we know Google published regular basis updates of Chrome. These are the major difference between chrome and chromium.
